By Simona Ristovska, ‘10, Alumni Coordinator for Macedonia
In November, YES alumni in Macedonia were invited to two events hosted by the U.S. Embassy.
The first event was hosted in honor of the American presidential elections, and fellow YES alumna Marija Indova, ’12, and I attended the morning breakfast where we had the chance to meet with alumni from different State Department-funded programs while we watched a live broadcast of the election results.
The second event was a reception hosted by the Public Affairs Officer from the U.S. Embassy at her home in Skopje.
Marija Indova, Kristina Taleska, ‘10, Martina Markovska, Natasha Carovska, Anastasija Stojchevska , all ‘12, and I had the opportunity to meet with the special advisor for Global Youth Issues, Zeenat Rahman. These kinds of receptions are a good way to meet other alumni interested in doing projects, and it is really thrilling to see the number of alumni our community has and how involved in different types of activities they are!
