By Simona Ristovska, Alumni Coordinator for Macedonia

In October, alumna Stefani Boshkovska ’10 organized a two-hour event at Orphanage “11 Oktomvri” in Skopje. Alumni who took part in the event were Dime Galapchev ’10, Simona Ristovska ’10, Maja Hirstovska ’10 and a couple of volunteers from Ss. Cyril and Methodius University. This is the second event at “11 Oktomvri” organized by YES Alumni. Stefani says: “Today I learned one more thing about myself. I have more and more love to give every time I see those kids.”

Dime played the guitar and Stefani sang together with the children. They held a mini-concert with the children who were divided in music groups and sang songs from Macedonian pop singers. Along with the singing, alumni played several games like Musical Chairs and Day & Night with the children. All throughout the visit, the children drew special thank you cards for the alumni. Alumni were so amused by the children that they decided to do this each month. Dime said, “I am motivated to work hard, so someday I’ll be able to adopt them all!”
