On October 31st, a traditional Halloween party was held at the American Corner in Bitola, Macedonia. Over 150 children attended the event, which was organized by YES Alumna Angela Dimeska ‘11 and the American Corner staff. Dressed as witches, clowns, goblins and more, the children played different Halloween games, listened to scary music, had a costume contest and enjoyed seeing a real Jack-o-lantern. Angela assisted with the games and interacted with the children.
Being part of a real Halloween celebration and learning what “trick or treat” really is brought smiles to participants’ faces, particularly when they were then rewarded with a treat!
