On February 18th, YES Alumna Ivana Gruevska held a presentation to the new members of the Competitive College Club at the American Corner in Bitola.
The Competitive College Club was formed in 2012, and assists the best and the brightest students to have an improved chance at admissions to a U.S. college or university. She presented about the general opportunities that the Competitive College Club offers to students, such as hearing from guest speakers, admission officers at U.S universities, choosing which institution for higher education is appropriate for the student, etc. She also had the opportunity to talk more in depth about the standardized test required from the universities or the SAT. She talked about the test sections, scoring, and cost of the test and also her personal view on preparations and comparison of the material in the test and material that is studied at public high schools in Macedonia. Ivana is extremely happy to be a part of a project such as this, as she states: – “It is an amazing opportunity to help more Macedonian students acquire international experience and attend U.S. higher education institutions.”
She explained about her personal experience with the club so far, and she will continue working with the new members and assisting Biljana Kuzmanovska, the EducationUSA adviser at the American Corner in Bitola with future projects of the Competitive College Club.
