By Simona Ristovska, Alumni Coordinator for Macedonia

On the 13th of October, American Councils Macedonia held our re-entry seminar in the capital, Skopje.  The alumni who took part in the seminar were the newly returned alumni from the 2011-2012 generation.  Among other activities, the alumni met the alumni coordinator Simona Ristovska and during the alumni panel they got the chance to meet alumni Noemi Chausidis ’11 and Semra Ameti ’11. Pictures of the seminar are available here.

Alumni who participated on the panel shared their experiences:

Noemi said, “It was fun because it made me go back to that time when I myself was at our re-entry, and how I had no idea what it was all about. When I saw the new generation of alumni there were so many things and so much advice I wanted to tell them, and I tried to get to know them as much as I can in those couple of hours. I am very eager to start working with them; they seem like a great group.  I hope they will join our future projects and become a part of our group of active alumni.”

Semra said, “It was a really amazing experience. Only one year ago I was on the other side, excited but also confused, still not knowing how the other part of the exchange journey would continue. But this seminar and sharing my experiences and projects that happened throughout the year made me realize how far I’d come and gave me the motivation to continue only stronger and better. It felt great getting to know the new alumni and being able to share our experiences and advise them on how to carry out their own ideas and projects. I hope we were successful in motivating them and I am looking forward to work together on new ideas.”
